Sony VAIO VGN-CR407E/R 14.1-inch Laptop Review from Jami. DO NOT BUY. Sony Vaio and customer service terrible! , I just packed up my pink Sony Vaio laptop for return. I received the computer 2 weeks ago and had several issues. First, almost every time I unplugged the computer to run on battery, the function key stopped working; therefore, not allowing me to adjust the volume or screen brightness. My screen went black for no reason a couple times and wouldn’t come back on unless I powered the computer down. Finally, and I don’t know if this is a Vista problem or Sony, every time my computer would go into sleep mode, upon awakening, it would disconnect from the wireless internet and also kick the rest of my family’s computers off as well. I spoke to customer service about returning the computer since it was within the 30 day warranty period and found out that my warranty started the day I ordered it, even though I received it 2 weeks later! It would take them 2 days, not including the weekend, so 4 full days to give me the shipping number that is required to be on the package for return. Don’t buy this product. Once you get it, they will be difficult to deal with and try to make it impossible to return. Imagine what kind of service you get after the 30 days are up and you’re really stuck with the computer!
